Overview

Design Kind had worked on updating the Norfolk Rivers Trust logo and approached me to develop the supporting brand identity. The client wanted to appeal to a wide audience, but without it feeling like a 'visitor centre experience' and engage a younger audience, whilst still not feeling out of place with their funders.

The project consisted of developing a library of icons, along with the general look at feel of their designed documents for reports and presentations along with their social media. It was important the design would have longevity and meet accessibility standards for web.

The design style created leant on a bold and simple aesthetic, pulling on visuals found in nature and replicating them with a modern approach. The icons and embellishments created then helped to bring the layouts to life in an engaging way.

Brand guidelines

After developing the design style a comprehensive Brand Guidelines document was created to guide the team going forward.

How to use the logo, colours and typography best practice were all laid out, alongside design examples and how to combine their icons as to not overwhelm their creations.

The guidelines were created in Canva so they could be easily shared and updated by the team.

Templates

I also created a library of templates in Canva - social media for different platforms, presentations and longer form report templates, giving the client autonomy over their designs for the future.

Armed with their brand guide, the client can confidently go forward creating new designs with their templates.
