Overview
I worked with Kate from Mast People Support to elevate her branding by creating her a suite of assets she could use across multiple designed outputs. In a male dominated sector, Kate was keen for her branding to be softer looking and really resonate the feeling of support, whilst retaining an air of professionalism.
The new design
Kate felt her old branding was flat, and wasn't reflecting how far she had come in her businesses. She knew she wanted to push the design, and also have a suite of images she could use to talk with alongside her themes.
The design of the new logo uses a simple icon paired with a bold logotype, and are designed with a hand rendered finish. The icon is hand drawn, whilst the typography has an imperfect finish, lending itself to a softer feel with bold impact.
The colour palette is a mix of warm pinks, blues and greens, so injects a level of femininity without being overly girly. The typography pairs impactful sans serif fonts with a handwritten typeface to inject a personal aesthetic to the copy.
The illustration and icon style were inspired by high fashion illustrations adding to that air of professionalism. The style allowed for a lot of detail to be incorporated and I added playful elements to make the compositions more interesting.
All the new design elements were then applied across a number of touch points, most notably through the website (created by Hannah Dossary), presentation, report and social media templates.
The result
Kate was able to off-board with a breadth of assets that fulfilled her brief and that she could go forward with confidently. By creating branded templates for her in Powerpoint, Word and Canva, she has the ability to create strong designs as and when she needs them without the worry of how to bring together all the brand elements.
The wide illustration library allows interest and fun to be injected into designs that perhaps otherwise might have been a bit dry, and mitigates any problems that arise from using photography.
The design style sets her apart in her industry, and shows that the feminine aspects of the branding have a big impact in her communications.
