Rebrand and Squarespace website design
Overview
Suzanne from Rethink Audio approached me to help with a brand update for the company, to bring it more in line with their positioning and audience. The project consisted of evolving the logo and looking at the supporting colour palette and typography and then applying the new look and feel to a new website.
Evolving the brand
The existing logo was very much loved company-wide, but it was felt that the colours and styling didn't reflect how fun or approachable the team are. It was a case of evolving what they had, and not a complete rebrand.
First off, the red was removed and a new colour palette was developed that included a range of teals, greys, purples and oranges - split into primary, secondary and tertiary palettes with clear pairings. The logotype was reset in all lowercase to enforce Rethink's friendliness, and the starburst motif was simplified to work better when scaled down to smaller sizes.
The evolution made for a much cleaner and impactful logo design. Rethink then received a brand pack that documented all of the new logos, colour palette breakdowns and font styling.
Squarespace website
The existing Rethink site was already in Squarespace and the team felt comfortable working on that platform, so the new design was chosen to remain there.
Their old site didn't showcase their work well so it was important to make sure that was front and central. The solution was to build their productions into the homepage with a featured section under the hero image for ease of navigation.
Rethink wanted their site to look polished and evoke the high quality of their productions, and I spent a long time working on the wireframes so they could feel confident with the user journey on build.
The result
I was able to update the Rethink Audio branding to sit within the podcast space with confidence. By working with them to evolve the brand and apply it to their website, we created a cohesive aesthetic for the brand, not only allowing their audience to recognise them, but feel confident that they're the right podcast production for them.
